Moderate explosive volcanic eruption and lava-collapse-fed pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) were from the Mayon Volcano summit crater on Thursday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
Footages of the strombolian activity were recorded at 6:46 p.m., 6:49 p.m., 7:13 p.m., 7:19 p.m., 8:14 p.m. and 8:21 p.m. as captured by the PHIVOLCS Quick Response Team at Mayon Volcano Observatory.
"Effusive eruption at Mayon Volcano continues for the 193rd consecutive day, generating incandescent lava flows and rockfalls," PHIVOLCS said.
Alert Level 3 prevails over Mayon, the agency said, and entry into the 6-km radius Permanent Danger Zone must be prohibited. — BAP, GMA News
