ITCZ, easterlies, northeasterly windflow to bring cloudy skies, rains over parts of PH

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao while the easterlies will be affecting the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon, and the effects of the northeasterly windflow will be felt in Extreme Northern Luzon, PAGASA reported.

As of 2 a.m., the Typhoon with the international name Koguma has exited the monitoring domain of PAGASA.

Meanwhile, the Tropical Depression (formerly LPA 10a) is still being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) or 3,030 kilometers east of Central Luzon packing maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h, and moving slowly in the north northwest direction.

Forecast Weather Conditions

Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Leyte, and Southern Leyte will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeasterly windflow and flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Central Luzon, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, and Pangasian will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies and flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms and flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

The wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon, Central Luzon and the western section of Southern Luzon is moderate and moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be moderate.

Visayas and the rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Mindanao residents will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
