The low pressure area (LPA), formerly Tropical Depression Caloy, is still being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau PAGASA said.
But the state weather bureau said that LPA 05b is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours. As of 8 a.m., it was last monitored 475 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar.Caloy weakened into an LPA on Monday night and may eventually dissipate in the next few days, said PAGASA.
Meanwhile, another LPA, LPA 05c, is being monitored outside PAR and is also unlikely to turn into a tropical depression in the next hours.
The said LPA was last monitored 1,560 km east of northeastern Mindanao. —VAL, GMA News
