Habagat to bring heavy rainfall over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro

The southwest monsoon or the habagat may bring heavy rainfall over Palawan and Occidental Mindoro in the evening of Sunday, May 31 to Monday, June 1, the state weather bureau said.

In an 11 p.m. weather advisory for the habagat, PAGASA said Typhoon Domeng is expected to enhance the habagat.

Areas in Palawan and Occidental Mindoro are expected to experience 50 to 100 mm of rainfall.

Localized flooding is expected in urbanized, low-lying, or near-river areas, while landslides may occur in highly susceptible mountain communities.

PAGASA advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. — JMA, GMA News
