'Habagat' to bring cloudy skies, rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas
The southwest monsoon or the “habagat” will bring cloudy skies and rains over different parts of Luzon and Visayas on Monday, June 1, 2026, the state weather bureau said.
In its 4 a.m. daily weather forecast, PAGASA said the southwest monsoon is affecting Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and the western section of the Visayas.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and Western Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms because of the “habagat.”
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in these areas during moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the center of the eye of Typhoon Domeng was estimated to be 650 km east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes at 3 a.m. Monday.
It is packing maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 160 km/h, and is moving north northwestward at 15 km/h.
Meanwhile, extreme Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.
The rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
