Habagat rains expected over parts of northern, western Luzon on June 9
The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat is expected to bring rains over parts of northern and western Luzon on Tuesday, the state weather bureau said Monday.
In its 4 p.m. forecast, PAGASA said the Habagat may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Zambales.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms brought by localized thunderstorms.
Affected areas of the Habagat and localized thunderstorms may experience possible flash floods or landslides.
Moderate to strong winds are expected in extreme Northern Luzon, with moderate to rough coastal waters with waves running from 1.5 meters to 3.1 meters.
Light to moderate winds are in the rest of the country, with slight to moderate coastal waters with waves running from 0.6 meters to 1.5 meters.
At the PAGASA Science Garden weather station in Diliman, Quezon City, the highest temperature recorded on Monday reached 32.5 degrees Celsius at 2 p.m., while the lowest temperature was logged at 26.5 degrees Celsius at 5 a.m.
