LPA, habagat to bring cloudy skies, rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas
The Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon (habagat) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas on the last day of the month, PAGASA reported.
At 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated to be over the coastal waters of San Pascual, Masbate as the habagat affects Palawan.
As of 2 a.m., the LPA 06d is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Metro Manila, Visayas, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to heavy rains.
Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
The wind speed forecast for Southern Luzon and Visayas is light to moderate and moving in the southwest to west direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to southeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
