LPA develops into Tropical Depression, to bring cloudy skies, rains over Luzon
The Low Pressure Area (LPA 06d) that the weather bureau has been monitoring is inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has developed into a Tropical Depression, according to PAGASA.
The Tropical Depression, which entered the PAR at 2 a.m. on Wednesday is given the local name "Henry."
As of 3 a.m., Henry was estimated at 70 kilometers west southwest of Abucay, Bataan with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and moving northwestward at 25 km/h.
Tropical Depression Henry and the southwest monsoon (Habagat) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over parts of the country on Wednesday.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Zambales and Bataan will have rains and gusty winds due to the Tropical Depression Henry with possible flash floods and landslides occurring due to moderate to heavy rains. There may be minimal to minor threat to life and property due to strong winds.
Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro and Marinduque will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms also due to Henry with the possibility that flash floods and landslides will occur due to moderate to heavy rains.
Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, the rest of MIMAROPA, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, and Misamis Occidental will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon. PAGASA said there is a possibility that flash floods and landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with flash floods and landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
The wind speed forecast for western section of Luzon is moderate to strong and moving in the southwest to southeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to southeast wind speed with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to southeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
