The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat is forecast to dampen the western section of southern Luzon and parts of Mindanao on Friday, the state weather bureau PAGASA said on Thursday.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 p.m., Habagat is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Palawan.

The Habagat is also forecast to cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Occidental Mindoro, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, and Antique.

Meanwhile, the easterlies may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Quezon.

The localized thunderstorm is also expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms in the said areas.
