State weather bureau PAGASA said it continues to monitor Super Typhoon Bavi, which remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility as of 2 a.m. Monday.

Bavi was located 2,355 kilometers east of Southern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 215 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 265 km/h.

It is moving west northwestward at 15 km/h.

The cyclone is forecast to enter the PAR by the middle of next week, when it will be assigned the local name Inday.

For Monday, PAGASA said the ridge of high pressure area extending over extreme Northern Luzon will bring mostly clear and dry weather, but the extreme heat can trigger localized thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA advised of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
