LPA outside PAR has 'medium' chance of becoming tropical depression —PAGASA

A Low Pressure Area (LPA 07a) being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday.

As of 8 p.m., the LPA was estimated at 1,600 km east of Eastern Visayas.

Several municipalities across Luzon and at least one in Mindanao have suspended classes for Monday, July 13, 2026 due to the effects of Typhoon Inday and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

Habagat

According to PAGASA’s 11 p.m. weather bulletin, the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat is forecast to bring heavy rainfall to Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan on Monday, July 13.

Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas, according to PAGASA.

The state weather bureau urged the public to continue monitoring weather updates.
