LPA outside PAR develops into tropical depression — PAGASA
The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has developed into a tropical depression, the state weather bureau said.
As of 10 p.m., the tropical depression was monitored 2,980 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao.
It packs winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour.
The tropical depression is moving west-northwestward at 20 kilometers per hour, PAGASA said.
PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin De la Cruz-Galicia said the LPA is not expected to affect any part of the country’s landmass in the next two to three days.
She added that the public should continue monitoring PAGASA’s updates due to the weather system’s high level of uncertainty. — BAP, GMA News
