Tropical Depression Luis forms east of Infanta, Quezon

The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored by the state weather bureau PAGASA developed into Tropical Depression Luis on Saturday over the Philippine Sea east of Infanta, Quezon.
As of 8 p.m., Luis was located 270 kilometers east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, or 380 km east of Daet, Camarines Norte, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h and gusts of up to 55 km/h.
It was moving westward at 15 km/h.
Luis is the first tropical cyclone to form in August. It is also the 12th tropical cyclone to enter or develop within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this year. — VBL, GMA News
