Habagat to bring cloudy skies, rain over Luzon — PAGASA

The southwest monsoon (habagat) will bring cloudy skies and rain over Luzon on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.

The tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which is being monitored by the state weather burea, is 3,355 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 105 km/h, and moving east northeastward at the speed of 25 km/h.

Forecast Weather Conditions

Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro will have occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon as flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Pangasinan, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, and Camarines Norte will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon while flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms while flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

The wind speed forecast for northern and western sections of Luzon is moderate to strong and moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving southwestward with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The wind speed forecast for Visayas and Mindanao is light to moderate moving in the south to southwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
