Heavy rainfall expected over 6 areas in Luzon on Sunday evening — PAGASA

Heavy rainfall due to the southwest monsoon (habagat) expected in six areas in Luzon on Sunday evening, PAGASA reported.

From Sunday evening to Monday evening, August 17, 2026, the amount of rainfall (50-100 mm) is expected over the following provinces:

• Ilocos Sur
• La Union
• Pangasinan
• Benguet
• Zambales
• Bataan

Monday evening to Tuesday evening, August 18, 2026, 50 mm up to 100 mm amount of rainfall is expected over the following areas:

• Ilocos Sur
• La Union
• Benguet
• Pangasinan
• Zambales
• Bataan
• Cavite
• Batangas
• Occidental Mindoro Antique

From Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening, August 19, 2026, heavy rainfall (50-100 mm) is expected over the following areas:

• Ilocos Sur
• La Union
• Benguet
• Pangasinan
• Zambales
• Bataan
• Tarlac
• Pampanga
• Cavite
• Batangas
• Occidental Mindoro
• Antique

"Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall," PAGASA said.

"The public disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measure to protect life and property. PAGASA Regional Services Divisions may issue Heavy Rainfall Warnings/Thunderstorms Advisories, and other severe weather information specific to their areas of responsibility as appropriate," the agency added. — BAP, GMA News
