Habagat to bring rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will bring rains and thunderstorms over parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Wednesday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its 24-hour public weather forecast, PAGASA said Zambales will experience occasional rains due to the Habagat.

Moderate to heavy rains may trigger flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas in the province.

Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, the rest of Central Luzon, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan and Antique will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned that moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas may also cause flash floods and landslides.

The rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms also due to Habagat.

Severe thunderstorms may bring flash floods or landslides in these areas.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said Luzon and the western section of the Visayas will experience moderate to strong winds from the southwest, with coastal waters expected to be moderate to rough at 1.5 to 3.4 meters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds from the south to southwest, with slight to moderate coastal waters from 0.6 to 2.1 meters. —VAL, GMA News
