Inihayag ni Kris Aquino na humiling siya na magkaroon muna ng “pause” ang relasyon nila ni Mark Leviste dahil sa problema sa kaniyang kalusugan. Ang Batangas vice governor, nagpahiwatig naman na “love is patient.”
Sa kaniyang “long overdue [gratitude] post,” sinabi ng Queen of All Media na “gotten progressively worse” ang kaniyang kalusugan.
Nananatili ngayon si Kris sa US para sa pagpapagamot habang pabalik naman si Mark sa Batangas para gawin ang kaniyang tungkulin.
“Nobody [I’ve] ever been in a relationship with has ever given me as much love [and] encouragement. He wasn’t only my boyfriend, he became my best friend and confidante, talagang maaasahan. The usage of WAS is correct,” ani Kris.
Kasabay nito, nagbigay si Kris ng update tungkol sa kaniyang kalusugan.
“My condition (the connective tissue disease which in my case seems to be my Churg Strauss, the progression of my Crest Syndrome, and the start of both rheumatoid arthritis and SLE) has gotten progressively worse,” sabi niya.
Ayon pa sa actress-TV host, nagsimula na niya itong maramdaman at makita dahil sa pananakit ng kaniyang mga binti, pamamaga ng mga tuhod at ibaba ng kaniyang likod, at nangingitim na kuko sa kaniyang mga paa.
“[The] pain is so bad that taking a few steps kinakaya ko BUT longer walks kailangan nang mag wheelchair," saad niya.
Dahil dito, hiniling niyang pansamantalang itigil muna ang relasyon nila ni Mark.
“I asked Marc for a pause because with my condition the way it is now, [I’m] self aware enough to know that a long distance relationship will be next to impossible for us to maintain,” sabi ni Kris.
Dagdag pa niya na bagama’t blessed siyang nasa kaniyang tabi ang mga anak na sina Josh at Bimby, “most moms reading this will agree, we don’t want our kids to suffer from anxiety about our health, especially kung solo parent ka like me.”
Pinasalamatan ni Kris ang mga anak ni Mark “for being so warm, polite, appreciative and so easy to get along.”
“Like [I] promised while your dad’s not around consider the home we’ve leased to be yours as well,” dagdag niya.
Bago magtapos sa kaniyang post, pinasalamatan niya si Mark.
“Thank you Marc for being here for me especially when my 2 ‘giants’ went home BUT our reality is that there’s a Pacific Ocean that divides us, a 15 hour time difference, and a 13 hour flight,” aniya.
“You know how much [I] believe in you and the last thing [I] want is to be an obstacle in your career as a public servant. This isn’t just a line, you will always have a place in my heart,” she added. “We may not have had our ‘happily ever after’ but being sick has really taught me to look at the glass half full—thank you for giving me the chance to again experience the magic of Once Upon a Time," sabi pa ni Kris.
Inanunsyo nina Kris at Mark ang kanilang relasyon nitong taon kung saan sinabi ng Queen of All Media na nakatagpo siya ng love at friendship sa bise gobernador.
Sa kabila ng anunsyo ni Kris, nag-post din si Mark na tila pahiwatig na hindi siya sumusuko sa kanilang relasyon.
Nagpost si Mark sa kaniyang IG stories ng black and white photo ng Instagram post ni Kris.
Sa post, sinamahan niya ito ng Bible verse na 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 na sinasabing, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
