Michelle Dee would rather bring her individuality rather than her sexuality to Miss Universe 2023

Michelle Dee Miss Universe Fast Talk with Boy Abunda

Michelle Dee looks and sounds ready for Miss Universe.

Before flying to El Salvador Monday, the Kapuso star first made an appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" to talk about her preps, showcase her walk, and of course participate in the signature fast talk portion of the the interview with the King of Talk.

At one point, Tito Boy asked Michelle if she will be bringing the story of her sexuality to the global competition, comparing her to 2021 Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Gomez, who proudly shared she was a pan-romantic upon joining the pageant.

"Dinala niya yung kanyang kwento duon sa Miss Universe. You came out as a bisexual. Will you be bringing this story to the Miss Universe?" The King of Talk asked.

According to Michelle, she will be bringing her individuality instead.

"I am bringing my individuality to Miss Universe, [which] is my whole story," Michelle began.

"It [My sexuality] won't be the highlight because I don't believe we should be highlighted based on how we identify ourselves. There is so much more to my story that I love to share," the beauty queen continued.

"Again, I don't want my sexuality to be the highlight. I want my advocacy to shine to brightest when I'm there in El Salvador," Michelle concluded.

Michelle Dee was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023 last May. Barely a month later, she came out as bisexual.

“I definitely identify myself as bisexual. I’ve identified with that for as long as I can remember,” Michelle told Mega megazine in her coming out featyre.

“I’m attracted to all forms of beauty, all shapes and sizes,” the Kapuso star added.

Last week, she put the spotlight on autism awareness, acceptance, and inclusivity in her advocacy video — the very same advocacies she carried when she competed — and won — in the Miss World Philippines pageant in 2019.

Michelle is looking to bring home the Philippines' fifth Miss Universe crown when she competes on November 18 in El Salvador.

At the send-off party her Sparkle Artist Center family gave her last week, Michelle confidently said she is ready for the upcoming competition. — LA, GMA Integrated News
