Dennis Trillo's son Calix interested in entering showbiz

Dennis Trillo's son, Calix, is interested in following his footsteps as an actor.

On "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Monday, the Kapuso Drama King said Calix is currently a varsity fencer for the University of the Philippines, but he has been asking about attending workshops and voice lessons.

"I said OK, let's do it when you don't have school," Dennis said in Filipino. "I told him I'll workshop him myself."

Calix previously dabbled into modeling.

Dennis, who considers himself a part-time actor and full-time father, also shared that Calix has a girlfriend, a fellow fencer. The 18-year-old has already introduced her to their family.

"The girl is very likeable. She's kind, respectful, and I feel has come from a good background," he said.

When asked about his advice for Calix, Dennis said he told his son to enjoy life and not rush into things. He also said that he wants Calix to avoid a mistake he made when he was younger.

"Of course, I don't want him to get a woman pregnant at the wrong time. Of course, I want him be prepared, be able to endure everything, the responsibilities should it happen," he said.

"Be careful always. Of course, Tito Boy, kids these days are impulsive right. Sometimes, we don't know that they're doing so reminders are needed every day for them," he added.

Calix is Dennis' son with his former girlfriend, Carlene Aguilar. In March, he was named Rookie of the Year for the UAAP Season 88 Men's Fencing tournament.

Dennis is married to Jennylyn Mercado. They have two more children: Jazz and Dylan.

Meanwhile, Dennis is set to star in the upcoming Kapuso action series "Hari ng Tondo" with Ruru Madrid. He will also return to the big screen in GMA Pictures' Metro Manila Film Festival 2026 entry "Amir." —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
