Alexandra “Alex” Eala received a first-round bye after earning the No. 3 seed in the Singapore Tennis Open.
The Singapore Tennis Open is scheduled for September 21 to 27 and will kick off Eala’s Asian swing.
Eala will await the winner of the match between world No. 165 Tatiana Prozorova and world No. 150 Sofia Costoulas to determine her second round opponent.
The Filipina ace last played at the US Open, where she reached the Round of 32 before falling to Iva Jovic, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, earlier this month.
After Singapore, Eala is expected to represent the Philippines at the Asian Games.
