Alex Eala, Venus Williams advance to Bad Homburg Open doubles quarterfinals

Alexandra “Alex” Eala and Venus Williams advanced to the quarterfinals of the Bad Homburg Open doubles event after defeating Catherine Harrison and Alexandra Osborne, 6-3, 6-4, on Wednesday.

The Eala-Williams tandem needed just one hour and 10 minutes to secure a spot in the next round.

The match marked the first time Eala and Williams shared the court as doubles partners.

Eala and Williams will next face the duo of Slovakia’s Tereza Mihalikova and Great Britain’s Olivia Nicholls, who are both ranked World No. 29 in doubles.
