OVP to open fifth dorm for COVID-19 frontliners in QC

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) Leni Robredo is opening their fifth dormitory to house frontliners battling the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

On her Facebook page, Robredo said that the dorm is located in UP Village in Quezon City.

Nearby hospitals include East Avenue Medical Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, Philippine Heart Center, Veterans Memorial Medical Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, and Philippine Children's Medical Center.

Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The OVP is also set to open two dormitories in Manila, one in Roxas Boulevard and one in Sampaloc.

It has already opened two dormitories in Cubao and Teachers Village, Quezon City.

Frontliners and other essential personnel have faced challenges heading to their places of work due to the suspension of mass public transportation under the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

The OVP also offers free shuttle service to help healthcare workers get to the hospital.
