Southwesterly windflow, Tropical Storm trough to bring scattered rains over Visayas, Mindanao
The southwesterly windflow will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Palawan and the western sections of Visayas and Mindanao while the trough of Tropical Storm Jangmi will be affecting the eastern section of Mindanao, PAGASA reported.
Tropical Storm Jangmi, which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), is located at 1,195 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilomters per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h, and moving north northwestward at the speed of 20 km/h.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, BARMM, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms brought about by the southwesterly windflow. PAGASA also reported that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of Tropical Storm Jangmi with the possibility of flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
The eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the west to northwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The extreme Northern Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northwest to west direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
The western section of Southern Luzon, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to west direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate with variable movement and slight to moderate coastal waters.
