Alex Eala to guest on Maria Sharapova's podcast 'Pretty Tough'

It's a full-circle moment for Alex Eala as she's tapped to be the next guest on Maria Sharapova's podcast, "Pretty Tough."

The official Instagram page of the podcast shared a video of Eala hugging her longtime idol on set, delighted at finally getting to meet her officially.

Eala also shared a childhood photo of her with Sharapova.

"Guys, it says, 'My goal is to be her,' I'm not even kidding," Eala said.

On Instagram, Sharapova said, "By very popular demand and rightfully so…she’s the girl of the moment. Tomorrow on @PrettyTough I cannot wait for you to listen to this one!!"

In July, Sharapova praised Eala online, calling her "a star" after the Filipina tennis ace defeated Iga Swiatek in the Wimbledon Round of 32.

Aside from making tennis history, Eala has been making her mark in the fashion world.

She's fresh from making her Paris Fashion Week debut at Chanel's Spring/Summer 2027 show.

In September, she made her New York Fashion Week debut, attending several events including the Tory Burch show, the Michael Kors presentation, where she met fellow Filipina Kelsey Merritt, and the Calvin Klein event, which spotlight Alex in its Instagram account.

Alex is set to headline the event "Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate" on December 8 at the Philippine Arena. She will face fellow Southeast Asian tennis star Janice Tjen of Indonesia in the exhibition match.
