Alex Eala vs Caty McNally at the Canadian Open

The Canadian Open may be over for Alex Eala, but the Filipina star’s busy hard-court swing continues.

Eala suffered a 6-4, 6-0 loss to world No. 14 and tournament 12-seed Belinda Bencic in the Round of 16 on Monday, ending not only her Canadian Open campaign but also an impressive seven-match winning streak.

But there is little time for the Filipina star to dwell on the defeat as she quickly turns her attention to her next tournament.

The 21-year-old Pinay ace is set to make her debut at the 2026 Cincinnati Open, another WTA1000 event that will feature several top players like defending champion Iga Swiatek as well as Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Naomi Osaka, and Coco Gauff.

The tournament is set from August 13 to August 23.

The Cincinnati Open is part of Eala's preparation for the US Open set in late August at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.
