Who is Felix Auger-Aliassime? Alex Eala's US Open mixed doubles partner
For the first time in her career, Alexandra “Alex” Eala will compete in the US Open Grand Slam mixed doubles event after receiving a wildcard spot.

Who really is Auger-Aliassime?
At just 26, Auger-Aliassime, often called “FAA,” is already one of the most accomplished Canadian players in tennis history. The Montreal-born star has climbed as high as No. 4 in the ATP rankings and owns nine career singles titles, making him the most decorated Canadian player of the Open Era.
In 2019, an 18-year-old Auger-Aliassime became the youngest player to break into the Top 25 since Lleyton Hewitt in 1999. He later added another notable name to his team, working with Rafael Nadal’s longtime coach and uncle, Toni Nadal, from 2021 to 2024.
During his time working with the elder Nadal, Auger-Aliassime reached the 2021 US Open semifinals before bowing out to eventual champion Daniil Medvedev in three sets. Despite the loss, Auger-Aliassime emerged as the first Canadian man to reach the Final Four in New York in the Open Era.
Auger-Aliassime has also made a name for himself in mixed doubles, winning a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics alongside fellow Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski.
Ahead of the 2026 US Open, Auger-Aliassime is known as a formidable hard-court player, having won eight of his nine ATP singles titles on the surface, including his most recent title at the ATP 250 in Montpellier last February.
From one history-maker for his nation to another, Auger-Aliassime and Eala are set to join forces in this year’s US Open mixed doubles competition.
