Alex Eala faces world No. 13 Diana Shnaider in Ningbo Open second round

Alexandra “Alex” Eala will face world No. 13 Diana Shnaider in the second round of the Ningbo Open on Thursday.

Eala, ranked world No. 20, is coming off a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Diane Parry on Monday.

Shnaider, the sixth seed in the WTA 500 tournament, advanced after defeating Yulia Putintseva, 7-5, 7-6(4).

The winner of the match will face the victor of the other Round of 16 clash between Iva Jovic and Jasmine Paolini.
