Alex Eala rules DC Open: Where will she play next?

Alexandra "Alex" Eala captured the first WTA title of her career on Monday (Tuesday, Philippine time) after winning the DC Open, marking a dream start to her North American hard-court campaign.

The historic triumph made Eala the first Filipina to win a WTA singles title, but her season is far from over as she is set to continue her campaign at the Canadian Open.

The Canadian Open, officially known as the National Bank Open, is a WTA 1000 tournament, with the champion earning 1000 ranking points.

Tournament organizers have scheduled Eala to begin her campaign on the night of August 5. As one of the tournament's seeded players, she received a first-round bye and will open her run in the Round of 64 against either Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva or Alycia Parks.

Following the Canadian Open, Eala is also expected to compete in the Cincinnati Open, which runs from August 13 to 23.

She will then return to the US Open, where she recorded her first Grand Slam main-draw victory last year. Eala is also set to compete in the mixed doubles event alongside Felix Auger-Aliassime and has been selected to play in the Stars of the Open exhibition, joining Iva Jovic, Learner Tien, and Joao Fonseca.
