Alexandra “Alex” Eala has arrived in New York as she begins her preparations for the US Open.

The tournament posted a video of Eala’s practice session on Saturday (Sunday, Philippine time).

Eala has already achieved several milestones at the US Open, including winning the 2022 junior girls’ singles title and becoming the first Filipina to win a Grand Slam main-draw match last year.

The world No. 20 is projected to enter the final Grand Slam of the season as a seeded player, with the women’s singles draw set to be revealed on Thursday.

Fans, however, will have a chance to see Eala in action earlier as she competes in the mixed doubles tournament with Felix Auger-Aliassime starting August 25, followed by the Stars of the Open exhibition match on August 27.

Eala has been on a roll this year, winning her second WTA 125 title last June and her first WTA title at the DC Open earlier this month.
