Two women were held at knifepoint and robbed by two men in Quezon City, with the suspects taking their mobile phones.

In a “24 Oras” report by Marisol Abdurahman on Friday, CCTV footage showed the two women casually sitting outside a store in Barangay Balingasa when the suspects approached them and took their phones.

The victims were sitting outside the store at around 2 a.m. Thursday when two men walked up to them and stole the phones. A suspect even frisked one of the victims.

The suspects then fled on a motorcycle driven by a third companion.

Quezon City Police Department spokesperson Police Major Jennifer Gannaban said the victims were simply outside to get some fresh air.

“According sa report, meron nga pong dalang kutsilyo itong mga suspect kaya nakuha po nila yung dalawang cellphone,” Gannaban said.

(According to the report, the suspects were carrying a knife, which they used to take the two cellphones.)

Gannaban said the suspects appeared to have chanced upon the victims.

Police were able to backtrack the suspects’ movements after the robbery.

Gannaban said police also received information that the stolen cellphones were being sold.

Police have yet to release their identities.
