Matatapyasan ng P0.2483 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) ang singil sa kuryente ng mga kostumer ng Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) ngayong Mayo.
Ayon sa Meralco, ang bawas-presyo sa singil ay dulot ng mababang "demand" sa konsumo ng kuryente sa kabila ng enhanced community quarantine sa Metro Manila.
Ang naturang kaltas ay katumbas ng overall electricity rate sa P8.7468 per kWh mula sa P8.9951 per kWh nitong Abril.
Ang bahay na kumukonsumo ng 200 kWh ay maaaring makatipad ng hanggang P50 sa nilang electric bill para sa Mayo.
“With a total net electricity rate decrease of more than P1 per kWh this year so far, this month’s rate is also significantly lower than that of May 2019, which was P10.2866 per kWh,” ayon sa Meralco.
Idinagdag nito na ang generation charge ay nabawasan ng P0.2537 per kWh para sa P4.3848 per kWh nitong Mayo mula sa P4.6385 nitong Abril.
“Because of the very significant reduction in power demand in its service area during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period, Meralco invoked the force majeure provision in its Power Supply Agreements (PSAs) for the duration of the lockdown, reducing fixed charges for generation capacity that would have been charged by suppliers,” paliwanag ng Meralco.--FRJ, GMA News
