Pumanaw na sa edad na 60 si Andy Fletcher, ang co-founder at keyboard player ng British electronic music band na Depeche Mode (DM).

"We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness with the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member, and bandmate Andy 'Fletch' Fletcher," pahayag ng grupo sa isang Twitter post.

"Fletch had a true heart of gold and was always there when you needed support, a lively conversation, a good laugh, or a cold pint,” sabi pa sa post.

Hindi pa sinasabi ang dahilan ng kaniyang kaniyang pagkamatay.

Binuo ang Depeche Mode sa Basildon, England, noong 1980. Kasama sa grupo sina Fletcher, Vince Clarke, Martin Gore at David Gahan.

Ang kanilang debut 1981 album na "Speak & Spell" ay naghatid sa kanila sa sentro ng British new wave scene.

Matapos palitan ni Alan Wilder si Clarke noong 1982, lumawak pa ang kanilang kasikatan sa mga album na "Violator" noong 1990 at "Songs of Faith and Devotion" noong 1993.
