Labis ang pasasalamat ng isang Fil-Am doctor sa California na napili siya bilang isa sa mga modelo ng mga medical frontliner sa inilunsad na Barbie doll collection.

"I’m SO incredibly honored to be a Barbie Role Model as part of their #ThankYouHeroes program," sabi ni Dr. Audrey Sue Cruz sa kaniyang Instagram post na may kasamang larawan niya at Barbie doll na kamukha niya.

"With this honor, I hope to shine a light on the commitment and compassion all frontline workers exhibited over the past year and a half and every single day," sabi pa ni Cruz, doktor sa Loma Linda University Medical Center sa California.

Bilang bahagi ng #ThankYouHeroes program, naglabas ang Barbie ng koleksiyon ng mga manika upang magbigay-pugay sa mga frontline workers sa buong mundo na patuloy na nagsisilbi sa kanilang komunidad, “in this time of need and are inspiring current and future generations to follow their lead.”

Sa Instagram stories, sinabi ng Barbie na napili si Cruz bilang modelo dahil "she treated COVID-19 patients and joined forces with other Asian-American physicians to fight racial bias and discrimination during the pandemic.”

Sa post ni Cruz, natutuwa siya na maging kinatawan ng "minorities in America and encourage cultural advocacy."

"I hope to represent working moms who are balancing their careers while raising a family. And I hope to show all young women that they can be ANYTHING they want to be — even a physician mom and engineering grad like this girl," patuloy niya.

Bukod kay Cruz, kasama rin sa Barbie’s #ThankYouHeroes program sina Dr. Jacqueline Goes de Jesus ng Brazil; Dr. Kirby White ng Australia; Prof. Sarah Gilbert ng United Kingdom; Dr. Chika Stacy Oriuwa ng Canada; at Amy O'Sullivan, US nurse.– FRJ, GMA News
