Natulungang makauwi sa Pilipinas mula sa Vietnam ang 79 na distressed overseas Filipinos, ayon sa Philippine embassy.
“The distressed Filipino nationals in Ho Chi Minh City requested the Philippine government’s assistance as many of them have been without work due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in the host country,” nakasaad sa inilabas na pahayag ng embahada.
“Prior to this latest repatriation, the embassy had already repatriated 378 overseas Filipinos in 2021 alone, and a total 847 overseas Filipinos since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic,” dagdag nito.
Sinabi ng embassy na tumulong din sa repatriation ng mga Pinoy ang Immigration Department ng Ministry of Public Security at Ministry of Foreign Affairs ng Vietnam, pati na ang tanggapan ng Philippine Airlines sa Vietnam. — FRJ, GMA News
