Ilang araw na lang, magsisidatingan na sa Pilipinas ang mga pinuno mula sa iba't ibang bansa na dadalo sa 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit. Pero kung ngayon sila dumating, baka nakita nila ang maling baybay sa "Philppines" sa tarpaulin na sasalubong sa kanila.

Sa isang tarpaulin na nakitang nakasabit sa Maynila na may nakasaad na pagbati na: "WELCOME to the Philppines! ASEAN Delegates."
Kapansin-pansin na kulang ng "i" ang Philippines.
Sinabing inalis na ang mga tarpaulin dahil hindi umano sumunod ang mga ito sa inaprubahang panuntunan, ayon sa ASEAN 2017 National Organizing Committee (NOC).
"The exact tarpaulins or billboards pinned in areas leading to the Mall of Asia Complex did not conform to the approved final artwork," saad sa pahayag ng NOC na binasa ni Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Kris Ablan during a briefing sa ASEAN International Media Center sa Pasay City nitong Biyernes.
Sinabi ni Ablan na ang mga artwork ng ASEAN 2017 Committee on Media Affairs and Strategic Communications ay sumasailalim umano sa masusing pagsusuri bago aprubahan.
"We are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the distribution and display of the subject tarpaulins or billboards," sabi pa ng opisyal.
"These are neither printed or distributed by the PCOO, the Philippine Information Agency, TIEZA (Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority), the MMDA (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) or the DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways)," dagdag ni Ablan. "We have directed the immediate removal of the subject tarpaulins or billboards."
Inako rin umano ng Department of the Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region ang responsibilidad sa naturang posters na may maling baybay ng Philippines. -- FRJ, GMA News
