Inihahanda na ang boxing ring na gagamitin sa “charity boxing" match sa Linggo sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum sa Maynila para kina Police General Nicolas Torre III at Davao City acting mayor Baste Duterte. Ang Games and Amusements Board (GAB), handa namang magbigay ng referee at medical team.

Nitong Biyernes, ibinahagi ni PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, ang ilang larawan na makikita ang pagtatayo ng boxing ring.

Una rito, sinabi ni Torre na hihintayin niya si Duterte sa Linggo sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum matapos niyang tanggapin ang hamon na suntukan ni Duterte sa isang Youtube post.

“Whether he shows up or not, may mga sponsors na may nagsabi na magdo-donate na lang ng mga ayuda sa ating mga kababayan na nasalanta ng bagyo at baha,” ani Torre.

Pero pahayag ni Duterte sa isang post nitong Huwebes, naglabas siya ng mga kondisyon para harapin si Torre sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

“Kung gusto mo lang talaga ng suntukan, bakit kailangan mo pa ng charity, charity? Why do you need…kailangan mo pang gamitin yang nangyayari ngayon na baha diyan sa Metro Manila?,” ani Duterte.

“Kung serious ka talaga ha? These are my conditions - pakiusapan mo yang amo na Presidente and let it come out of his mouth that all elected officials should undergo a hair follicle drug test. Papalagan ko yang charity, charity mo na ‘yan. Walang problema. If it will answer the issues nitong bansa natin, I can do that,” dagdag niya.

Samantala, naglabas ng resolusyon ang Games and Amusements Board (GAB) para matiyak ang kaligtasan at integridad ng “charity boxing” match nina Torre at Duterte sa Linggo.

Sa Resolution No. 2025-08 Series of 2025 ngayong Biyernes, sinabi ng GAB na ginawa ito base na rin sa kahilingan ng mga kalahok: 

  • recommend a qualified and duly accredited professional referee to officiate the Torre vs. Duterte boxing match
  • direct its medical team to be on standby to provide immediate assistance to the participants should the need arise

“GAB has duly accredited professional referees who are qualified to officiate the bout and ensure that it is conducted under the established rules and standards of boxing,” saad ng Board.

“Medical personnel, consisting of licensed physicians and paramedics, are available and capable of providing immediate medical attention to the participants in the event of injuries or emergencies during the match,” ayon pa sa resolusyon.-- mula sa ulat ni Joviland Rita/FRJ GMA Integrated News
