Para kay "24 Oras" anchor at GMA News pillar na si Vicky Morales, nananatili ang "Wish Ko Lang" sa misyon nito na bigyang katuparan ang mga hiling ng mga deserving na tao, kasabay ng pagiging weekly drama anthology series ng programa.

Sa renewal ng kaniyang kontrata sa GMA Network nitong Huwebes, Marso 21, ipinaliwanag ni Vicky na mas naging "in-depth" pa ang storytelling ng Wish Ko Lang dahil sa drama portrayal ng kanilang mga tinutulungan.

"Siyempre we always have to update ourselves, so kung dati ganoon 'yung format, now we try to portray the stories, be more in-depth. And then 'yung wish-granting namin, namimili na lang kami ng isang case study sa isang family o personality and then 'yun ang binibigyan namin ng mga gifts."

Ayon pa kay Vicky, epektibo para sa programa ang ginawang pagre-reformat.

"Of course I long to go back to the old format. Pero we have to adapt and I think that's being effective also for us. But eventually, you know, we'll never really lose touch of 'yung talagang trademark ng Wish Ko Lang which is really, to pick well-deserving families and grant their wishes."

Ilan sa mga touching scenes na talagang naaantig siya ay kuwento ng mga batang kakaiba ang mga pinagdaanan.

"We always have very touching scenes, especially the ones involving children. So ngayon, parang 'yung storya, mas malalalim I would say, 'yung mga fini-feature namin, since may portrayal... mas masalimuot 'yung mga pinagdaanan nila. 'Yun siguro 'yung kaibahan, which is why mas touching ngayon kasi you realize how much they've been through, minsan mas masaklap sa mga napapanood natin sa mga totoong drama."

Hindi rin daw makapaniwala si Vicky kung minsan na mas malala pa ang kuwentong nangyayari sa totoong buhay kaysa mga scripted na drama.

"And minsan, sinasabi ko 'Oh my gosh, akala ko script lang 'yung mga nakikita natin pero sometimes, mas grabe pa 'yung mga nangyayari sa totoong buhay, 'yung mga hindi mo aakalaing mangyayari sa isang tao, nangyari, especially sa isang bata, 15 years old, 16 years old."

"So 'yun sa akin, very touching 'pag nalalampasan nila 'yun," dagdag pa ni Vicky.

Tanggap naman ng Wish Ko Lang host na kailangan ding magkaroon ng mga pagbabago sa programa.

"The pressure is constantly there para mag-perform, to make ourselves relevant, and you know, I think that's what's good for our team, kasi we always try to  outdo ourselves. So we want to be there for a very long time, and that's part of the ride so, we really want to, of course, be on top of our game. We also want to be very competitive in our time slot, because it's really a mix of so many things and we want to appeal to our audience," ani Vicky.

Isa na rin sa dahilan ay ang pagkakaroon nila ng millennial viewers.

"Siyempre 'yung audience natin, marami na tayong millennials. So of course, we want to continue to be relevant."

Nananatiling Kapuso matapos ang halos 30 taon

Patuloy na mapapanood si Vicky Morales sa iba't ibang GMA News and Public Affairs shows matapos mag-renew ng kontrata sa Kapuso Network.

Kasama niyang pumirma sina GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon,

President and COO Gilberto Duavit, Executive Vice President and CFO Felipe Yalong at GMA News and Public Affairs SVP Marissa Flores.

Nagpapasalamat si Vicky sa halos 30 taon niya sa Kapuso Network.

"Kung tutuusin, itong contract signing, formality lang naman ito. Kahit walang kontrata, GMA will always be home to me."

"I'm feeling very grateful, grateful siyempre sa mga namumuno ng GMA, sa tiwala nila sa atin. Grateful din sa mga programa, which I love very much, 24 Oras, Wish Ko Lang and Good News and of course grateful sa mga katrabaho ko, so I feel very blessed," sabi ni Vicky.

"Si Vicky ay tunay na home-grown, samula't sapul dito na siya nag-umpisa, at isa na siya sa mga pillar ng ating News and Public Affairs group... Tayo'y talagang nagagalak na nag-renew na naman si Vicky Morales," ayon kay Atty. Gozon.
