Nagbitiw na ang aktres na si Nadia Montenegro sa kaniyang posisyon bilang political affairs officer ni Senador Robin Padilla. Ngunit hindi umano pag-amin sa akusasyon laban kaniya ang ginawa niyang pagbibitiw.
Nitong Lunes, sinabi ni Atty. Rudolf Philip Jurado, chief of staff ni Padilla, na tinanggap na ang ginawang pagbibitiw ni Nadia sa trabaho.
“Today, we received the written explanation and letter of resignation of Ms. Nadia Montenegro. Her resignation has been accepted,” saad ni Jurado sa isang pahayag.
Ayon kay ni Jurado, ipinaliwanag ni Nadia sa sulat na nagbitiw ito sa trabaho para sa kapakanan ng kaniyang mental health at mga anak.
Itinanggi ni Nadia na gumamit siya ng marijuana sa loob ng gusali ng Senado. Bunga ito ng pagkakabanggit sa pangalan niya sa report ng Senate Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA), na may naamoy umanong marijuana mula sa isang banyo kung saan galing ang aktres.
Sa naturang report ng OSSA, itinanggi rin ng aktres na gumamit siya ng marijuana at sinabing mayroon siyang vape.
“My decision to resign should not be misconstrued as an admission of guilt—-it is not. Rather, it is a demonstration of my deep respect for the Senate and Senator Padilla’s office, so that this issue does not cause further distraction or harm. To prevent this baseless issue from growing any further, I would rather remove myself from the spotlight and allow the Senate to focus on its important work,” paliwanag ni Nadia.
Sa naturang sulat, ipinaliwanag din umano ni Nadia na ipinakita niya sa security personnel ang vape niya na grape flavored. Ang banyo rin umano ng persons with disability (PWD) ang ginamit niya at hindi ang banyo ng babae.
“Thus, if said alleged unusual scent which resembled to marijuana, came from the ladies’ comfort room then it should not be attributed to me,” paliwanag niya.
Madali rin umanong mareresolba ang usapin kung susuriin lang ang CCTV footage.
“These claims have caused great pain and distress to me and my family. It is deeply hurtful to see my name and reputation tarnished and destroyed by a story that is simply not true. Me and my children do not deserve this! No one deserves this,” patuloy niya.
Matapos lumabas ang mga ulat tungkol sa OSAA report, sinabi ni Jurado na nag-leave of absence si Nadia.
Kasunod nito, iniutos ni Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon tungkol sa insidente.
Ilang senador naman, kabilang si Senate Minority Leader Tito Sotto ang nagmungkahi na magkaroon ng random drug test sa mga opisyal at kawani ng Senado para matiyak na drug-free ang kapulungan.—mula sa ulat ni Giselle Ombay/FRJ GMA Integrated News
