Pumanaw na ang vocalist ng bandang Jeremiah na si Piwee Polintan.
Ibinahagi ng banda ang malungkot na balita sa isang Facebook post nitong Martes, October 28.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Piwee Polintan, beloved vocalist of the band Jeremiah,” saad sa post.
Sa kanilang tribute post, inilarawan ng OPM band si Piwee na isang “exceptional artist whose voice and passion touched the hearts of many.”
“Beyond his music, he was a cherished friend, a loving soul, and a brother to us all. His legacy will live on through the songs and memories he shared with the world,” ayon pa sa banda.
Nagpasalamat din ang banda sa lahat ng nag-alay ng panalangin, suporta at pagmamahal sa panahong nakikipaglaban sa karamdaman si Piwee.
“Please continue to keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. May his soul rest in eternal peace," saad pa ng grupo.
Bago nito, inihayag ng grupo ng nakaranas ng stroke si Piwee noong October 23.
Inilunsad ang Jeremiah noong 1998, at kabilang sa mga sikat nilang awitin ang Bakit Ka Iiyak?" "Nanghihinayang," "Kahit Anong Mangyari,” “Basta’t Ikaw,” at marami pang iba.
