Inihayag ni Mav Gonzales na magkakaroon na sila ng unang anak ng kaniyang mister na si Matthew Valeña.

"We're expecting our first baby," pag-anunsyo ni Mav sa guesting nila ni Matthew sa “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” nitong Biyernes.

Ayon kay Mav, nalaman niyang buntis siya noong bumalik sila ni Matthew sa bansa mula sa kanilang biyahe sa United States.

“It's a honeymoon baby so parang pagbalik ko po ng Pilipinas, 'cause I was just diagnosed with [polycystic ovary syndrome] right before the wedding, so sabi ng OB, 'you have PCOS, may infection ka, it's gonna be hard for you to conceive,'” kuwento ni Mav.

“Pagbalik ko po dito, I went for a follow-up checkup and the doctor said, 'you have an infection ulit.' Something in me, naisip ko lang, 'hmm mag-a-antibiotics ako, hindi pa ko dinadatnan, parang dapat mag-test ako just to be safe' and it was a positive test,” patuloy niya.

Ayon pa sa award-winning Kapuso journalist, hindi sila naging emosyonal ni Matthew nang matuklasan na magkakaroon na sila ng anak, at sinabing, "I think we were both shocked kasi it was very unexpected, definitely unplanned."

Ibinahagi rin ng couple kung ano ang tumatakbo sa kanilang mga isipan matapos malamang buntis si Mav.

Sinabi ni Matthew na tutularan niya o hihigitan pa ang kaniyang wonderful dad.

“My dad was a wonderful dad, very family driven and, you know, I think I want to take that and just go beyond that a little bit more. I think my biggest focus is just focusing on generational trauma, why do I feel the way I feel about certain things, and helping them to understand that there are gonna be things that they don't understand, why they think this, but I'll help them to understand,” ani Matthew.

Si Mav naman, unang pumasok ang kaniyang hectic na iskedyul bilang reporter.

“Very busy 'yung schedule ng reporter na sometimes it's not enough for a relationship and let alone kung may baby ka pang inaalagaan, so I think ngayon I'm mentally preparing to make time for everything. For the baby, siyempre for my husband also, it can't just be the baby. For the family,” sabi niya.

Ibinahagi ni Mav noong Oktubre ang ilang larawan mula sa kasal nila ni Matthew sa kaniyang Instagram account.
