Dalawang pulis ang nasawi matapos silang pagtatagain at barilin ng dalawang suspek sa Calinan, Davao City nitong Miyerkules ng hapon. Isang pulis at isang sibilyan din ang sugatan.
Sa ulat ni Jandi Esteban sa At Home with GMA Regional TV nitong Huwebes, kinilala ang mga nasawi na sina Police Staff Master Sergeant Tito Lague at Police Corporal Mark Anthony Corsino.
Ayon sa pulisya, rumesponde ang mga biktima matapos makatanggap ng tawag na may nangyayaring kaguluhan sa Barangay Lacson.
Habang nakikipag-usap umano ang mga pulis sa mga sangkot kaguluhan, tinaga ng mga suspek ang biktima at inagaw pa ang mga baril nito.
Napatay sa hot pursuit operation ang suspek na si Benao Maanib Landas, at nadakip ang isa pa na si Rico Masacay.
Patuloy na iniimbestigahan ng mga awtoridad ang insidente.
Samantala, mariing kinondena ni Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director, Colonel Alberto Lupaz, ang ginawang pagpatay sa dalawang pulis na tumutupad lang umano sa kanilang tungkulin.
"DCPO strongly condemns, in the strongest terms, these heinous acts that violently took the lives of not one but two of our dedicated personnel, leaving two others injured who heroically responded to the call," ayon sa opisyal.
"This heartbreaking incident serves as a solemn reminder of the immense risks and sacrifices our police officers make daily to ensure the safety and security of our community.
