“At around 4 a.m., my husband and I suddenly woke up to the sound of running water,” kuwento ni Bethany Bayer. “At first, we thought our dog might have spilled something, but when we got out of bed, my husband immediately said, ‘There’s water on the floor.’ When we turned on the lights, we were shocked — our entire house was flooding."
“We were basically trapped,” saad niya. “We wanted to check what was happening in the neighborhood, and when we got outside, the water was still rising.”
“We’re in San Angelo, and we barely get rain. People here usually pray for rain because we need it. My husband grew up here, and he said he’s never seen anything like this. No floods — this is a first,” saad niya.
“As of now, there are still no reports of any Filipino casualties. The Consulate remains hopeful that none will be reported in the coming days,” saad ng konsulado.
“The Consulate is in direct contact with the Filipino community in Kerrville City and is aware that our kababayans living there are doing okay,” ayon sa Assistant to Nationals (ATN) sa konsulado.
“The Philippine Consulate General continues to closely monitor the developing situation and the outcomes of the search and rescue efforts in the affected areas of Central Texas, particularly in Kerr County, where the effects of the flash floods were most devastating,” dagdag nito.
– FRJ, GMA Integrated News
