Pumanaw na sa edad na 101 si Juan Ponce Enrile, na unang iniulat na naka-confine sa intensive care unit (ICU) dahil sa pneumonia. Tumatak sa marami ang kaniyang campaign slogan na, “Gusto ko, happy ka.”
"It is with profound love and gratitude that my father, Juan Ponce Enrile, peacefully returned to his Creator on November 13, 2025, at 4:21 p.m., surrounded by our family in the comfort of our home," saad sa Facebook post ng anak ni Enrile na si Katrina.
"It was his heartfelt wish to take his final rest at home, with his family by his side. We were blessed to honor that wish and to be with him in those sacred final moments," dagdag niya.
"He dedicated much of his life to the service of the Filipino people. At this time, we humbly ask for the public’s understanding as our family takes a brief moment to grieve privately and honor his memory together in quiet and in peace," pahayag pa ni Katrina.
Inaayos pa umano ang detalye para sa burol ng nakatatandang Enrile para mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga nais na magbigay ng huling respeto sa namayapang opisyal.
"On behalf of our family, I extend our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming love, prayers, and support we have received during this difficult time. Your kindness means more than words can express," sabi ni Katrina.
Bago pumanaw, nagsilbing chief presidential legal counsel ni Pangulong Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. si Enrile. Naging dating Senate President din siya.
Sa talumpati sa Malacañang, tinawag ni Marcos si Enrile na, "an icon in the pantheon of Philippine history."
Noong Oct. 24, 2025, dumalo pa si Enrile via online sa promulgasyon ng kaniyang kinakaharap na kasong katiwalian sa Sandiganbayan mula sa ospital.
Ayon kay Katrina, nasa ospital ang kaniyang ama dahil sa pneumonia.
Kamakailan lang, sinabi ni Senador Jinggoy Estrada, na may "very reliable source" siya na nasa ICU at may pneumonia ang nakatatandandang Enrile at may "slim chances of surviving"
Sa naturang pagdinig ng Sandiganbayan Special Third Division, pinawalang-sala si Enrile sa kaso, kasama ang dati niyang chief-of-staff na si Jessica "Gigi" Reyes. Ang kaso ay may kaugnayan sa maanomalya umanong paggamit niya sa priority development assistance fund noong senador pa siya.
