Hindi muna itutuloy ng Kamara de Representantes ang planong ibalik sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang panukalang P6.7 trillion budget ng pamahalaan sa 2026 na mayroon umanong mga maling tala o detalye tungkol sa mga alokasyon ng pondo. 

Sa pulong balitaan nitong Huwebes, sinabi House spokesperson Atty. Princess Abante, na nag-usap nitong Miyerkules ng gabi sina Speaker Martin Romualdez at dalawa sa mga lider ng Kamara na sina Reps. Ronaldo Puno ng Antipolo at Jose Alvarez ng Palawan, at napagkasunduan na huwag munang ibalik sa DBM ang isinumiteng National Expenditures Program (NEP) na naglalaman ng panukalang 2026 budget ng pamahalaan.

Pero kailangan umanong akuin ng DBM at Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang responsibilidad sa mga maling nakatala rito.

“Based on the interviews they (Puno and Alvarez) made, there are statements saying so,” ayon kay Abante.

“But I don’t know if we can already say it will be returned or not kasi dalawa pa lang [among House leaders] ang narinig ko na nagsabi. Still, their position on the issues they raised, that it should be the DBM making the corrections, not Congress, did not change,” dagdag ni Abante.

Una nang kinuwestiyon ni Puno ang 2026 budget dahil sa kawalan ng pondo para sa mga multi-year programs at ang pagkakaroon ng alokasyon para sa mga proyektong tapos na umano.

Sa isang panayam sa Super Radyo dzBB, sinabi ni Puno na nahikayat sila ni Romualdez na huwag nang ibalik ang buong budyet, at sa halip ay ituro na lamang ang mga mali sa ginaganap na budget briefing ng DPWH sa House appropriations panel sa Biyernes, Setyembre 5.

“We recommended the return of the entire budget but the Speaker said that there are agencies which did not contain erroneous entries such as the Comelec and the Department of Social Welfare and Development. He told us it would be better not to return the entire budget,” ayon kay Puno.

“He told us instead of returning everything, we can just point it out to the DPWH per district [sa budget briefing]. That would take two days, but you [should] point out every single problem that every single district has. We agreed,” dagdag niya.

Una rito, iniutos ni Pangulong Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. sa DBM at DPWH na magsagawa ng malawakang pagsusuri sa panukalang 2026 budget upang tanggalin ang mga probisyong walang saysay. — mula sa ulat ni Llanesca T. Panti/FRJ GMA Integrated News
