Dalawang piloto ang nasawi matapos na bumagsak ang pinapalipad nilang air cargo plane sa labas ng perimeter ng Busuanga Airport sa Barangay Decalacho sa Coron, Palawan nitong Huwebes.
Ayon sa pahayag ng Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-ASG), sangkot sa insidente ang isang Volpar BE18 air cargo plane, na bumagsak dakong 11 a.m. kanina.
“Initial investigation revealed that the aircraft had arrived from Sangley Airport to pick up live fish products and was bound to return to Sangley upon takeoff when it suddenly crashed and exploded,” saad ng PNP-ASG.
Nakuha ang mga labi ng dalawang piloto dakong 3 p.m. sa isinagawang search and retrieval operation.
“The remains were subsequently transported to 5R Funeral Services in Coron, Palawan and will be subjected to proper identification,” dagdag ng PNP-ASG.
Pansamantalang natigil ang operasyon sa runway ng Busuanga Airport dahil sa insidente pero muli ring binuksan matapos na matiyak na ligtas itong gamitin. — Vince Angelo Ferreras GMA News
