"No amount of words. What is sorry? Sorry is not enough because no amount of words that would make Divine come back to this world again,” sabi ni Ifeoma Adili, ina ni Divine Adili, sa eksklusibong ulat ni Bea Pinlac sa 24 Oras Weekend nitong Sabado.

“No amount of apology. What has happened has happened,” dagdag pa ni Ifeoma.

“The damage has been done and it has turned my family into a very big problem,” sabi naman ni Elias Adili, ama ni Divine.

No… There's nothing I can do.”

“Let his body come first in a good condition. Let the body come first. That is our main priority – the body and in a good state,” sabi pa ni Ifeoma.

“The justice that I want there is the truth. Explanation on how everything happened. No clarity at all. For now.

“He doesn't know how to swim. I think what they would have done is they would have asked them, did you know how to swim? They did not provide anything for them for safety. They just carried them down to the big ocean like that,” sabi pa ni Ifeoma

“There’s supposed to be life jackets. There’s supposed to be divers. That's what I mean by carelessness,” sabi ni Elias.

"I'm sorry. To the depth of my being, I'm sorry," saad ni Baldwin.

“As coaches, as people responsible for that situation, the players themselves did everything they could to ensure that everybody arrived back on shore safely. And then we realized that we hadn't accomplished that.”

“And in that moment, I experienced the descent into the darkest place imaginable. And yet I knew at the same time that good people, people that had done an amazing job raising these two young men, were going to be in an even darker, more horrible place,” patuloy ni Baldwin.

“At that moment, I felt I had failed. I failed as a leader. I felt I had failed as a coach,” sabi pa niya.

“We appeal for greater clarity and transparency from the University administration,” sabi nila sa pahayag.

“Was due process followed in this activity in accordance with University regulations? Were parents and guardians duly informed of the nature of the activity?... Were safety measures put in place to anticipate or mitigate risks such as drowning?” pagpapatuloy ng mga faculty member.

“To ensure this process is conducted with the highest standards of fairness, independence, and objectivity, the University's Board of Trustees has mandated a thorough fact-finding inquiry,” sabi ni Fr. Roberto C Yap SJ, President ng Ateneo De Manila University.

“This inquiry will exhaustively examine the circumstances surrounding the incident, reconstruct a transparent timeline, review all athletic protocols, and interview every individual present,” pagpapatuloy nito.

— Jamil Santos/VBL GMA News
