Isa nang Kapuso si Derek Ramsay matapos siyang pumirma ng kontrata sa GMA Network nitong Miyerkules, April 3. Alamin kung sino ang Kapuso actress na una niyang makakatambal para sa primetime drama series na “The Better Woman.”
Sa panayam ng showbiz press, sinabi ni Derek na hindi naging mahirap para sa kaniya ang magdesisyon na maging Kapuso.
"It’s surreal right now. It’s unbelieveable," anang aktor. "I’ve been waiting all my life for this day."

Sabi pa ni Derek, hindi lang siya ang kinausap ng pamunuan ng network kung hindi maging ang kaniyang pamilya.
"The way they approached me and my family, it was again with so much respect," saad niya. "I was shocked they reached out to my folks and we had a great meeting. No negative talk, they just wanted to get to know me and my family."
Sabi pa ni Derek, suportado ng kaniyang pamilya ang kaniyang desisyon.
"And my family, they said 'you should do this.' And I was like wow, they are really so close to me so when I felt so comfortable, sabi ko perfect fit na talaga to. They gave me the time to prepare my mind, my body," patuloy niya.
Present sa contract signing sina GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon, President and COO Gilberto Duavit, GMA Executive Vice President & Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Felipe Yalong, SVP for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, at ang manager ni Derek na si Jojie Dingcong.
"Tayo’y siyempre nagagalak and Derek is a very welcome addition to our stable of artists, magaling siya na artista at meron siyang program sa amin," sabi ni Atty. Gozon.
Inihayag naman ni Ms. Rasonable, na pagbibidahan ni Derek ang isang primetime drama series kung saan makakatambal niya si Andrea Torres.
Ayon kay Derek, nakilala na niya si Andrea nang mag-shot sila sa Subic para sa station ID.
“I’m gonna be working with the very beautiful and very talented Andrea Torres and I’m happy to have met her just the other day. We shot the station ID, nag-shoot kami sa Subic and first time ko siyang ma-meet,” kuwento ng aktor.
Pag-amin pa niya, nag-alala siya dahil may pagka-sexy agad ang mga eksena na kanilang kinunan.
“First time ko siyang makilala, and yung mga scenes namin dun ay sexy and romantic na agad,” sabi ni Derek. “I was kinda worried. Paano kung mailang kami sa isa’t isa? But wow, she’s an amazing woman and we just hit it off nung ginawa namin ‘yung mga eksena. One take and then naririnig mo sila direk na kinikilig.”
Sabi pa ng aktor, natutuwa at masaya na katrabaho si Andrea.
“It was a pleasure to work with her. I’ll be doing a soap with her called ‘The Better Woman’ which is going to be very challenging for her. I’m excited for her actually kasi ang hirap ng role na gaganapin niya dito sa 'The Better Woman' and I think she’s the perfect one for the role,” sabi niya. -- FRJ, GMA News
