Apat ang nasawi at hindi bababa sa 10 ang sugatan nang paulanan ng bala ang pagtitipon ng isang pamilya sa Stockton, California, ayon sa pulisya.
Sa Facebook post ng vice mayor ng Stockton na si Jason Lee, sinabi nito na nangyari ang pamamaril sa isang children's birthday party.
"I am in contact with staff and public safety officials to understand exactly what happened, and I will be pushing for answers," saad niya sa post.
Ayon sa pulisya, nakatanggap sila ng impormasyon bago 6:00 p.m. local time (0200 GMT Sabado) tungkol sa nangyaring pamamaril sa 1900 block ng Lucile Avenue sa Stockton.
"We can confirm at this time that approximately 14 individuals were struck by gunfire, and four victims have been confirmed deceased," saad sa post sa X ng San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.
"This is a very active and ongoing investigation, and information remains limited. Early indications suggest this may be a targeted incident, and investigators are exploring all possibilities," dagdag nito.
Walang pang ibinibigay na impormasyon ang mga awtoridad tungkol sa suspek.
Sa Facebook page ng San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office, inihayag nito na edad 8,9,14, at 21, ang mga nasawi sa naturang pamamaril.
