Ngayong isa nang corporate chef sa isang supermarket chain na pag-aari ng isang Pinoy sa Amerika, sinagot ni Donita Rose ang tanong kung may plano pa siyang bumalik ng Pilipinas.
"Well, I'm not closing my doors to the Philippines. Ang problema lang talaga is that my entire family is here in the US," sagot ni Donita sa panayam sa kaniya ni Lhar Santiago sa Chika Minute Exclusives.
Ayon kay Donita, miss niya ang kaniyang pamilya kaya napalipad siya sa Amerika at ngayo'y limang buwan nang namalagi sa Los Angeles.
"My whole life, I've been there in the Philippines without my family, so 'pag bakasyon lang minsan, in the beginning it was twice a year and then it became once a year and then it became every other year. And when I came back during the pandemic, I just realized how much I missed my family," sabi ng dating actress-TV host.
"One of the reasons why I feel so much happier now is because I have a bigger support system in my family," dagdag ni Donita.
Gayunman, hindi naman ito nangangahulugang hindi na siya babalik pa sa Pilipinas, dahil nasa bansa ang kaniyang mga kaibigan na handang tumulong sa kaniya.
"I think going back to the Philippines naman is not a problem because I love the Philippines, I have so many close friends, people I can always tell them na 'If I ever needed anything from you, I know I could call you.'"
Hindi man ganito ang support system ni Donita sa abroad, pero ang kaniyang pamilya ang kaniyang "foundation."
"My entire life that's always been my dilemma. My love for the Philippines and my love for family back here," sabi ni Donita.
Magandang career
Kuwento ni Donita, pitong buwan siyang nanatili sa Bay Area sa Califorinia kasama ang kaniyang kapatid, bago lumipat sa Los Angeles.
"I think things are a little bit better here for me, there's more opportunity. I'm getting all sorts of increase left and right for things," sabi niya. "At this point I just really need to get settled with my current job and then I can start thinking about doing things on the side."
Nagtatrabaho si Donita sa Island Pacific, ang chain of stores na nagbebenta ng fresh meat, produce, at groceries na ang specialization ay Filipino cuisine.--FRJ, GMA News
