Dahil peak season ng maraming negosyo ang "Ber" months, nangangailangan ang mga ito ngayon ng seasonal workers o temporary workers na kailangan sa maikling panahon.
Sa ulat ni Lei Alviz sa GMA News "Unang Balita" nitong Huwebes, sinabing in-demand ngayon ang waiters at waitresses, bartenders, cashiers, ticket clerks, sales persons, drivers, receptionists, service crew at production of factory workers, ayon sa Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
"Marami po tayong demands for hotel and restaurant, wholesale and retail, at saka po 'yung transport and logistics. Their vacancies almost double during "Ber" months, if you compare that from January to August," sabi ni Director Dominique Rubia-Tutay ng local employment ng DOLE.
Triple ngayon ang booking para sa mga party sa isang restaurant sa Quezon City kumpara sa mga nakaraang buwan.
"May mga on-call kami na mga waiter. Kung sakaling may events kaming pumasok, madali namin silang pagseserbisyuhan," sabi ni Lito Borabo, isang restaurant manager.
Dapat ay mayroon ding benepisyo ang mga seasonal workers gaya ng mga regular na empleado.
"Nandiyan pa rin 'yung overtime pay, nandiyan 'yung service incentive leaves, nandiyan din 'yung 13th month pay. Even 'yung for SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-ibig," sabi pa ni Tutay.
Makikita sa PHILJOBNET.GOV.PH ang mga job opening, at maaari ring magpunta sa mga Public Employment Service Office o PESO sa city hall at munisipyo at lehitimong employment agencies. —Jamil Joseph Santos/LBG, GMA News
